Our Culture

We are a non-denominational ministry with Pentecostal roots. A ministry with a community and youth focus. From the moment a person enters the church, we welcome them and make them comfortable.

Our worship is designed for attendees to be in the presence of GOD and freely express their love and adoration to the heavenly father. Preaching is geared toward teaching & altar call is given after each message so that people can respond to God’s word.

Chief Apostle Dr. Kevin Barber

Overseer

Servant Leader – Business Innovator. A native of Baltimore, Maryland, has been in pastoral ministry since 2004, and is the Senior Pastor of Word and Praise Faith Ministries. Commissioned by God to minister to the church and community, he has a special heart for young people and enjoys encouraging them to higher standards and expectations. An effective communicator of God’s Word, he is known for his “keep it real” biblical approach to teaching and preaching the “Word”, and its practical application in our everyday lives has impacted countless lives and his testimony is living proof that God can do anything and that He will make a way out of no way, just as He said He would! His passion is empowering the people of God. He is the founder of “Men of Valor”, a ministry dedicated to sharing and empowering men to walk by faith by putting God first in their lives. A talented artist and songwriter, he is the co-founder of Angel of Songs Music and AOSD Publishing companies; and as businessman, he is widely known for his entrepreneur businesses and also works in the Information and Technology field. Doctor of Theology degree at Philadelphia Bible Institute and Seminary.

Together, they both have five children, five grandchildren, a son in-law and a daughter in-law. They currently reside in Glen Burnie, Maryland

A native of Panama City, Florida, and Senior Pastor who with grace, commitment, and passion serves alongside her husband, Pastor R. Barber, as the founder and Pastor of Word & Praise Faith Ministries.

An exemplary life committed to servanthood, she uses her spiritual gifts of teaching and preaching God’s Word in a practical manner to equip His people for kingdom service. She has a God’s given passion for youth of all ages and enjoys the extra special blessing of being a spiritual mother. She inspiringly implemented “Youth Talk”, addressing youth on various topics and issues. She possesses a compelling passion for women who are lost, hurting, and in needed of restoration; and, is the founder of “Women of Wholeness” a ministry dedicated to helping women obtain healing and freedom from past hurt, pain, bondage, and brokenness. She too, like her husband, is a talented artist and songwriter and is the founder of Angel of Songs Music and AOSD Publishing companies. Co-Pastor Shelly served as a Senior Program Analyst for the Department of Defense for many years and currently serves as a consultant on various administrative programs. Doctor of Theology degree at Philadelphia Bible Institute and Seminary.

Together, they both have five children, five grandchildren, a son in-law and a daughter in-law. They currently reside in Glen Burnie, Maryland
